Overall, the past week went very well (Zach party, High School Orientation, parties, band parent preview, etc.)!  The kids will be starting school this week and aren’t too wonderfully excited about that!  This has been a short summer.  The kids got out in June and this year, school starts on the 20th of August!  Where did the time go!

Tonight, Sarah, Angela, and I went to a kick-0ff meeting for Seminary (early morning religious study – 6am every day for those who may not know) this next year.  Sarah will be 1 of only 3 girls in the program of kids going to Metea Valley High School.  She’s the only one from our ward (and our Stake for that matter)!  Before going to the meeting, she wasn’t very excited, but the meeting changed her mind.  It will be a struggle because we live so far away and it will be at a home instead of at a church building, but it will be a great learning experience for her.

We also heard from Carmen this week!  She’s doing well and still has another month before she starts school…  The kids are jealous about that!  🙂  She sent us some pictures of our church building in Cadiz (not too far from her Grandmother’s house) and of where in her home she has our family pictures.  That’s funny about the church in Cadiz being so close to her Grandmother’s house, because the church building in San Feranando where she lives is just a couple blocks from her house!  🙂

Zachary is probably the most excited to go to school.  He will start Kindergarten on Thursday and can’t wait!  🙂  He keeps talking about it and how much he is excited to have his new teacher (which he already knows because Kirstyn had her for Kindergarten as well)!  We had a kindergarten orientation breakfast on Saturday morning which Zachary loved because there was food!  We are a bit nervous because he is going to all-day kindergarten and we’re not sure if he can pay attention that long!  🙂  Cross your fingers!
