Technology Forum Here I Come!

Today, I (Kirk) was selected by the School District’s CIO to be part of the District 204 Community Technology Forum.  This is a volunteer forum that I applied for and was selected.  I am very honored to participate with other technology-minded members of the community to help make our district a better place to be educated.  From my understanding, the response to the CIO’s request for participation was overwhelming and to be selected is very exciting!  Currently, there are 30 schools, 28,000 students, and over 10,000 computers (laptops and desktops) in the district.

We Love Our Teachers!

Last night, we held our 5th Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner for the kids’ teachers.  We honored them with a dinner, a program (where the kids read poems and letters they had written – Zach also read a book all by himself , sang songs, and played music), and a gift.  This year, Sarah invited Mrs. Chaloka, her Honors English teacher.  She came with her husband and daughter.  Brittany invited Miss Roman, her chorus teacher (she was thrilled to be a repeat from last year)!  🙂  Kirstyn invited her main teacher, Mrs. Sobun and her math teacher, Miss Lindsey.  Miss Lindsey brought her mom who was also teaches at the elementary and has taught our kids.  Zachary invited Mrs. Pierce who was his pre-school teacher for the past two years.

We truly love to do this for the teachers who make a difference in our kids’ lives.  The teachers are thrilled to be a part of this love to participate.  We challenge all of you reading this to do the same for teachers who are making a difference wherever you may be.  They are the ones who, along with us, prepare our kids to be successful in the future.  Their quiet service deserves some attention.
