Sarah Endowment

What a WONDERFUL day we had today!  We got up early and drove to Nauvoo.  Grandma and Grandpa Hobbs came with and we all went to the Nauvoo Temple with Sarah for her to receive her endowments.  It was a very emotional day and one that we will never forget.  What wonderful choices Sarah is […]

Pinewood Derby & Sarah Pick-Up

Today Zach had his first Pinewood Derby!  He was so excited.  He built most of the car by himself with only a little help from dad (I promise).  🙂  I’m not a huge fan of Pinewood Derby competitions (lots of kids end up crying) but Zach sure enjoyed it! He ended up in the bottom

Kistyn Last Chorus Concert at Still

Tonight was Kirstyn’s final chorus concert at still.  They sang beautifully.  The Waubonsie high school premier group was also there to sing with them. It was sad for Kirstyn to leave the school after the concert.  She has enjoyed singing with the Still Middle School choir so much and Mrs. Boddy has been a great

Event and Tour at Soldier Field

Well, in the 18 years we have lived in Chicago, I never thought I would be able to go to Soldier Field.  I never did get to see a game (don’t do Sunday games and Monday Night Football was always sold out and too expensive), but I did get to go to a vendor meeting

Mormon Prom and Regional Science Fair

Today Kirstyn participated in the regional science fair with her project on how different types of sugar make bread rise.  She did a GREAT job on her board, and really impressed the judges!  At the end, she was awarded semi-finalist!  She was glad she didn’t win outright because the state science fair will probably be

Brittany Concert

Tonight, Brittany had her last Metea Orchestra concert.  Again, as I say in about every post concerning the fine arts programs in District 204, it never ceases to amaze me at how talented the kids are.  We hope that the music program in wherever we end up in Colorado is good, but we can’t even

Dinner with Friends and Families

Today, we had a dinner at Fisher’s house with Angela’s “girl group.”  They have been doing monthly lunches and get together activities (including the trip to Vegas) for years, and this will be the last one before we leave for Colorado. It was bitter-sweet for Angela.  It was great to see the families of all

Ben’s Big Birthday Party

Today, Ben had a big number 5 birthday party.  Brittany and Kirstyn put everything together for it.  They decorated the entire house and Ben had about 10 of his friends over!  They played a bunch of games and had a bunch of food and fun. Instead of having cake, Brittany had them decorate their own

Happy Birthday Ben!

Happy big number 5 Ben!  Ben’s birthday was today and he is SO excited to be 5!  We’re not quite sure why, other than the fact that 5 is older than 4.  🙂  What a crazy little boy! He has a big party coming up that his sisters will be decorating for so he can’t

Kirstyn Solo and Ensemble

Kirstyn participated in the District 204 Solo and Ensemble Festival today with a group of her friends.  They sang beautifully and got the highest marks from the judge.  Before the competition, they all went out and bought matching outfits (which they probably had just as much fun doing as they did singing).  🙂 They were

Home Sold!

After only 10 days and about 15 showings, our house sold!  We are SO excited we can barely see straight!  It was crazy…  We had competing offers, one even at list!  The one at list was not a very strong financial situation and the agent had pulled out on our agent twice in the past.

Buckeye Basketball

Zach played well in his game today.  He got a couple of rebounds and got the Board Beast award!  He was SO excited! As usual, his team won again!  They really do have a great team and it’s amazing how little guys this age can play so well.
