Kirstyn Band Concert!

Tonight was Kirstyn’s first band concert of middle school!  She was so excited to get there and play for everyone!  She’s quite the little performer!  She practiced really hard and she is quite talented on her Clarinet!

The concert went well and we couldn’t believe it… Zach and Ben came and actually behaved themselves!  We were very grateful for their quiet attitudes tonight!

Parent Teacher Conferences – Round 1!

Tonight was round 1 of Parent Teacher Conferences!  We visited Gombert first and talked to Zach’s teacher.  He’s doing great with the exception of the talking and not listening to his teachers sometimes!  🙁  We need to work with him on that!  Part of it may be that he is bored with what the other kids are doing and wants to be challenged more.  He is usually the first one done with assignments.  He is still reading like crazy and is on a 3rd+ grade level.

We then went up to visit with Brittany’s teachers (and 1 of Sarah’s) at the high school.  She is doing very well and we are proud of her also.  With a little more application, she could be right at all A grades.

We’re interested in what Kirstyn’s and Sarah’s teachers have to say during round 2 next week!

Keep up the great work, kids!

Feed My Starving Children

Tonight, Sarah, Brittany, and I went over to Feed My Starving Children for a combined Young Men and Young Women Activity.  We had about 60 of us there, along with about 30 others that were volunteering from other places.  We worked very hard and ended up with:

  • 93 boxes
  • 216 meals in each box
  • 20,088 meals
  • Enough food to feed 55 kids for an entire year!

We really love going over there and performing service!  The food we packed to night is going to Guatemala.
